[AT] Need help no internet connection

Help!
I was trying to send some files this afternoon by setting up a FTP 
connection.   My rep at Godaddy could not help and later I downloaded 
FileZilla from an approved site.  I finally gave up as I do not know the 
lingo to be able to connect.  Now I have email, but no internet 
connection.   Mywife can use the internet on her tablet, but my computer 
will not address anything, it times out.  I even tried to connect to my 
router by its IP address and it times out. This happens on both internet 
Esplorer, and on Firefox....  I usually use Firefox.   I have a Windows 
7 Home premium system.  I have worked on this for the last 3 hours and 
tried a lot of suggestions on the internet.  My Wife's tablet just ran 
out of battery!
