[AT] Continental Ignition

To steal a quote from Farmer....."with electronics such as battery chargers the secret is to not let the smoke escape...once the smoke is out they no longer work." Or something close to that. :-)

I have a similar theory with electronic ignition brain boxes. The secret is to keep the goo inside. Once the goo runs out of them...well it's not a good thing.

Since this list always amazes me at the the depth and breadth of knowledge I thought I'd turn to my fellow ATIS friends for suggestions.

I have a 1983 Erickson Skidloader (think Ford CL30/40 series) with a Continental Y112 engine that has an electronic ignition. The ignition brain box is loosing it's goo and it has started missing/running poorly. In all my Google searches all I can find is reference to points and condenser ignition systems. Since this engine was used in a lot of industrial applications I'd think there should be some cross reference information out there someplace. I just can't seem to find the right keywords to locate it.

I'd like to get this machine running right again as it's such a handy thing to have around. It's getting fall and time to get back out to the timber to cut firewood. It makes cleanup and hauling wood a breeze.

Thanks in advance!

Brad
