No, I did not know there was any choice other than having ads on the 
sidelines of facebook.
  I have grown quite adept at ignoring ads so they really don't bother me.
Youtube kept after me for a long time to "monetize " my videos meaning 
to have ads on my
videos. Seeing how much I detest ads on other videos I have never 
bothered to go after the
big money I could be making by allowing ads on my videos. I have no idea 
how much, or
how little money I have passed up over the years by this practice. Maybe 
I don't want to
know.
