[AT] Older John Deere tractor

With my brain cells being what they are anymore I have a question. 
Somewhere in my foggy memory, I seem to remember someone saying that at 
one time JD had a Detroit Diesel in one of their smaller tractors, 
perhaps a 2 cylinder. In a way this doesn't seem possible, but on the 
other hand one never knows. So, is this real or do I call the doctor on 
Monday. I tried looking online but found nothing except modified pulling 
tractors which in my opinion don't count.
