I should have stated that those are also nice looking machines, well cared
for and ready to mow grass.

Ever had to replace all those plastic gears in the front of the Kawasaki
engines? Dad did 2 or 3 of those. It was a little labor intensive but seemed
an easier fix than when a Kohler decided self destruct. It was funny, Deere
always had the parts in stock.

John,

Yep, don't know how how it happened other than they couldn't get the 445
running. I got it running it
about 4 hours and it runs good. Needed sonme fixes on oil leaks, the seat
was bad and the hood needed
some real repairs but after about $300 of parts ansd some work I have a good
tractor and a Brinly
Poly-Vac that is in like new condition for use at home in WA where I really
need it. Have to
disassemble it to get it all home in the P/U bed along with the 5th wheel
hitch. But it will fit.
Have been wanting one of the Brinly's for a long time but wasn't willing to
pay the going rate. Got
the Brinly at 1/3rd list price and all the rest as a bonus. Some days go
better than others.

You paid $500 for the mower and the equipment? Here the mower alone sells
for $3000 and up. To me these seem to be some of the best mowers Deere ever
built, but I'll stick with my 2 big Cadets.

Really tough snow conditions here. 72 degrees expected here today and 80
degrees on Friday. Am having
fun with my, new to me, JD 445 Garden Tractor , 54" Deck , Thatcher and
Brinly Poly-Vac system with
6.5hp blower motor that I purchased here all for $500.00. Everything running
good now too. Brinly
system going back to WA state and the JD 445 staying here for Antique Garden
Tractor pulling at the
local shows. Have a JD 425 GT at home so the 445 is quite familiar to me.
Only difference is the 425
is carburetor based and the 445 is fuel injection based. Both have the same
water cooled Kawasaki
engine but the 445 has two more rated HP than the 425. Those extra 2 HP
should really make a
difference! :-)
