Even without internet you can load a lot of stuff onto a machine. Or 
grab a cheap tablet or laptop and load it up.
As far as getting internet to the shop. With a couple wireless extenders 
and external antennas you can reach a long ways. I have had a stable 
network running over 1/2 mile for a couple years.
