I pulled the drain plug from the pan and was surprised to find black
thick oil draining from it. When the engine started knocking last
year, I drained the oil to check if any pieces were in the oil. I
refilled the engine with new oil to make sure it was not started without
oil. I had thought the drive plate ( clutch ) was broken. The dealer
was advised not to start the engine until a new plate had been installed.

If the dealer did not start the engine, why was the new oil so dirty?
If they were going to pull the pan, I can understand why there was only
1 pt of oil in the pan when I pulled the plug. I don't think the new
oil would get black just sitting in the pan even though the tractor was
hauled 100 miles. There are numerous bolts that were not replaced and
not with the tractor, the bolts that were replaced were not tightened
sufficiently, and the tractor now has an oil leak from the rear that it
did not have when it left. It also has a flat on a brand new tire that
was holding air fine when it left...

I just had another bad experience with mechanic I was using on my
vehicles. I had a broken flex plate on my F150, the Drug runner truck.
It had an oil leak also on the valve cover that the mechanic replaced
when he installed the new engine. I got charged for removal of the
broken bolt on the cover and also for a new A/C compressor, tensioner
and belt that was replaced to stop the knocking noise in the engine. I
paid the $853 bill and when I started the engine it still knocked. I
was told the A/C compressor needed replacement anyway!!! The A/c would
freeze you out, so I did not believe that...

I took the F150 to a transmission shop and when they finally got to it,
the Flex plate was broken. The transmission shop replaced it for
$700...This time I found an honest shop.

I am ready to talk to my attorney about this NH tractor and the
dealership, the head could have been used if they would have not started
the tractor again. the level of incompetence in this country is
astounding.

End of Rant.... It's only money.... but it's my money......
