Over the weekend I pulled the head on my TS110 New Holland that I
thought had a drive plate problem and spent $3200 with the NH dealer to
get a new drive plate installed only to find that the problem was in the
engine. Since there was no way to inspect inside the bell housing I
could only guess where the noise had come from. With only 1800 hours
showing on the meter, I could not believe it was in the engine.

The dealer estimated $5000 to repair the head... I brought it home to
work on myself.

The number 4 exhaust valve head broke off and damaged the piston. It did
not break through, but it put a big dimple in the head between the exh
valve seat and the injector hole. It damaged the injector tip. It also
pent the intake valve . ?There are some fine cracks around the valve
seat. I am trying to find a head to rebuild. I have new guides,
valves, springs, and keepers. All I can find are rebuilt and I do not
trust anyone rebuilding it, having many bad experiences with rebuilt
engine parts. I have contacted several yards but have not found
anything yet. It is the 4 cyl 304 turbo genisys series engine used in
the T*110 NH tractors and the ford TB100, 5640, 6810, 6610S, & 7610S.
If anyone has information on where I could find a head or where a
salvage tractor is I would appreciate a heads up.
