Now you KNOW I bleed Carolina Blue ! I did have a Dukie tell me yesterday to
be real careful this morning because all those tears we shed would be ice
under this snow!

Well it's a good thing it's above freezing here because
it's pouring down rain now. Some of it sounds kind of
hard but there is enough of the really wet to keep it at
bay. Besides John, I though hell froze over down the
road in Chapel Hill last night. grins.

9:30 and still above freezing, nothing falling. Depending on where you
check the forecast, 6-12" for my zip code.
The media is literally scaring everyone to death. They canceled school today
with nothing on the roads! A 2 hour delay would have been more than
adequate. If we get the snow they are predicting, my kid will miss 4 days of
school this week. Already missed 4 last week. Goes to a charter school, no
buses to deal with, but the lame excuse last week was the parking lot hadn't
been cleared.

By the way, I live on a major 4 lane highway in the projected highest
snowfall area, they haven't put out one drop of brine. I really can't figure
out what that stuff is for, since they didn't put it out on any of the
secondary roads in last weeks sleet and ice storm. If I lived in a "poor
rural" area, I might could understand.

One of the top headlines on the news this afternoon on the local news
website was rush to the store and stock up!

John, the S/E corner of the state had our doom yesterday and
today. Hopefully tonight blast stays to our North and West.
My truck stayed in Auto 4WD all day today and finally got back
into 2 wd late this afternoon when the sun and road salt
started to take full effect. We only had about 4" but that's enough
to makes things difficult here.

The entire great state of North Carolina is at the grocery store getting
milk and bread (need milk sandwiches to survive)before the impending doom
hits in a couple hours. In Yankee and mid-western terms, were going to get
from 1 to 10 inches of snow.

Maybe if we get 10" of snow I won't have to go to work tomorrow, hopefully
it is wet and hard packed so the sledding will be good!
