FWIW, Batteries Plus is mow Batteries + Bulbs, and they have all sorts of LED items in stock. If you have a store reasonably close to you, there probably isn't any reason to special order anything. I have been to one twice in the last week and they have every imaginable socket and adapter combination to fit your needs so you can convert to LED on a moment's notice. They have a display showing tungsten, CFL, and LED so you can see initial cost, running cost, and overall cost side by side.

I’ve got some 8’ fluorescent lights in the shop that have basically died, probably bad ballasts—they were used when they were installed over 30 years ago. Will one of the 3700 Lumen units produce more light than 8’ Fluorescent bulbs—I think the ones we have have 2 pins.
