Hi Farmer,
Thanks for sharing the story about the Super MTA. My Great
Grandfather bought a Super MDTA in 1954. He traded the Olivers off for
it.
Every farmer in the area who knew he had it always questioned why he
needed such a big tractor! According to my grandfather, diesel was
about $0.05 a gallon, and gas was $0.25. I'm sure he saved a bunch.

In 1963 he bought a 560 diesel, and grandpa bought an 806. With much
luck, grandpa has found that same 806 and bought it back.
It's sitting in the shed now all painted up. But way deep down,
Grandpa is still an Oliver guy from a to z.

By the way, what was a good price for a used tractor back then?
The 806 Grandpa bought new in 63 cost about $4300. He still has the
original sales reciept for it.

 Take Care,
