I've recently dropped Dish Network for the same reason.
My problem is, the few stations I do want to watch are only
available on satellite or cable and some of them aren't even
on our local cable.

Not to hi-jack you're thread, but on a similar note, I just dropped
Direct TV for the first time and am now totally going off a roof top
antennae. $90 a month cheaper and I don't miss it a bit. What a waste
money; paid for 300 channels and watched about 4. That's an implement a
year in my books.
