I thought I responded to this with my cell phone but I don't see it.  I would recommend going to your
local JD Dealer for this kind of 10W oil. They sell an oil that is a substitute for the 10W oil.  A
good JD parts guy will refer you to the right stuff.  However, the only oil that Is a must buy though
from JD is the Power Steering fluid. Only JD PS oil fluid is absolutely required for the JD 620.  JD
PS oil has something in it that the two cylinder tractors absolutely must have.

The operator's manual for my JD 620 calls for about a gallon of straight 10W
oil for the PTO shaft clutch housing, but SAE 10W isn't among the readily
available oils at the couple of places I've looked.   Any thoughts on using
a multigrade oil instead?  5W-20?  10W-30?

I expect the majority of PTO hours be to warm-weather operations like the
rotary mower or a sprayer, but I could potentially need to power a
PTO-driven generator for an extended period during cold weather.
