I worked with a guy that switched over one of the small 2 cell AA models to 
LED. I don't know if it was a kit or something he put together on his own. 
Regardless of how he converted it, it was almost too bright.

I have several Mag lights.  Never wore one out.  I have converted two of
the older ones to LED lights. Found a conversion kit at Academy Outdoors.

I did loose one on a deer lease.

They have some nice LED models. Pay a little extra and last forever.
