Nothing magical will happen in April, most machines will operate fine for months to come.  The biggest problem for most folks will result from drivers that are not available: say from upgrading your printer.

This announcement was to put you on notice that you will hit a wall with XP eventually .  It just a matter of when.   And "when" depends entirely on how you use it.
