Ralph:
I have a 5000 Ford that I pulled the top deck off back in March of 2012
to repair the PTO clutch. We followed the I&T manual but it did not say
we had to pull off the filter housing from the right side. There was a
3/4 inch pipe that threaded into the valve/cylinder under the deck. It
broke with only a minor movement of the deck. Less than 1/8 in !!!!
Replacement cylinder was over $1500 anda used one was $1000.00... I
had a local machinist build a threaded block to fit it, at about
$300... However, I have not had time to get it back on the tractor.
Parts seem to crawl away from the tractor when the sit longer than 5
minutes...........
