[AT] Antique Tractor show...and plow days?

David, what county are you in? Quite a few of us ATIS posters in NC, from
the coast to the mountains actually.

Used to be a show down in White Oak. I haven't been in 20 years. They used
to have plowing demos with everything from horses to Willys jeeps. I think
it was in late March. Do some searching and see if it is still there. The
Reidsville show should be late April, I think Sanford still has a show in
May, no plowing at either of those. Denton is July 4th, if you've never been
they are plowing with steamers an prairie tractors--everyone needs to attend
that show once. Silk Hope has a show around Labor Day, don't know about
plowing, the last time I was there they had a bunch of nice permanent
exhibits, but the travelling exhibitors were declining and it was turning
into a flea market--It used to be one of the best shows in the state back in
the 80's. Should be a show towards Charlotte featuring a cotton gin,
probably in the fall. October has a small show in Granville county, lot of
smaller working exhibits. I don't know when but there is a show near Arden
(almost to Tennessee). Check also to see if the Lion's club still hosts a
show around Jamestown. There was a show in Boone at one time, I think they
have changed time and location a few times. Up in Spencer's neck of the
woods there is a show, maybe at East Bend, they used to put on the one at
Pafftown. The best place to go in my opinion is Ken Eders at Carthage. He
has one of the largest tractor collections in the world, I am not
exaggerating. Most of his stuff is so big it would have to be hauled on a
lowboy flagged as an oversized load. The guys helping him run his stuff take
a few of the steamers out to plow. His show is in October. I could type for
hours about it so it is just easier for you to search it on the net.

I'm recalling all this by memory as I rarely go to antique shows anymore.
There are lots of shows in NC, get a show guide from Antique Power or Ogden
publications

Are there any "plow days" planned for the 'central area' of NC this
spring?.......guess it is obvious, I am hoping there will be.
