Wow, what a tragedy Greg, I can't even imagine what that family is going through.

I hope your brother has nothing but good luck with the tractor.

Enjoy, Joe

My brother paid for the tractor so it is a done deal. Also as promised,
the dealer paid him the $30 for when his helper ran through a check that
was to be on hold. Also he was wondering about 3 pt. hitch. Someone on
this list said that they were not available with 3 pt. from the factory.
I decided to look up Saginaw County Tractor Parts who has made 3 pt.
kits for years. This would be good for us as they are only 70 miles
away. However, sad to say, their website says they no longer make these
kits and will update their site if they ever resume production. I can
understand that their sales have probably been hurt a lot by the new
compact tractors, however, this is just one more item no longer
available for the older, smaller tractors. I have heard that a couple of
others make these but I have to think their days are numbered. I know it
is said that nothing in life is certain but change, but I'm not sure
that is always good or maybe I'm just getting old and set in my ways.
All of my machinery except 3 items ( skid steer, corn planter and JD
4255 tractor) are over 40 years old and even the 3 are 20 plus years. A
couple of people have accused me of living in the past. My answer; I
would love to live in the present but can't afford to.

On a sad note, our neighbor a mile away lost their 3 year old son last
night. On Sunday they were doing chores in their small barn (they raise
a few 4-H sheep) when they missed the 3 year old. For whatever reason he
had taken a sheep halter with him and put it around his neck, walked up
to the house by the swing set and climbed up and slid down the slide
when the rope hooked on something. They think he may have been there
about ten minutes but no one knows for sure. He was flight cared to a
hospital 70 miles away but they could not save him. It just shows how
life can change forever in just a second.
