[AT] New 1500 Ram Diesel 4x4

Go a new pickup 3 weeks ago, and now have 8000 miles on it. It is a Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 EocDiesel with the 3 liter VM engine, 8 speed auto transmission, and a 3.92 axles for increased tow ratings.
First trip was Houston to Daytona Beach Fl to go inspect a pump skid. Average mileage 24.5 mpg.
Second trip pulling a 6x12 enclosed Cargo trailer Houston to McPherson Ks. Ave mileage just under 16 mpg
Third trip was vacation in Colorado, via Oklahoma and Kansas. Ave mileage about 25, but need to verify. Best mileage on trip per on board computer was 27.7 mpg returning on Oklahoma panhandle where i slowed done a bit due to heavy rain.
Mileage appears to be speed dependent, which is what I would expect. At 75 I get 23 to 24 mpg. At 65 I get 25 mpg or slightly more.
4x4 was nice when crossing Raton pass where there was 2 to 4 inches of hail on I-25. Was also handy when pulling up some burned out cedars trees on our Oklahoma property.
Transmission is very smooth. Cannot tell when it shifts gears most of the time without watching the tach. The manual top gear selector was helpful defending mountain roads, where I did not need to brake much.
My wife even enjoys riding in it.
