I have a 2000 chevy 1 ton that dad & I bought new. It had the first ABS
brakes for us... It would literally push your foot off the pedal and
slide thru an intersection if it was wet. Dealer could not help. I
disconnected it by pulling the fuse. It has been that way since it was
6 months old. My 95 chevy suburbvan had ABS I changed the brake pads
and the ABS quit working. I spent over $1000 trying to get he ABS
working again with 2 new abs units. I finally gave up. I did not like
the ABS anyway. This surburban was also the one that had 3 air
conditioning compressors in its lifetime and every time it required a
new evaporator in the dash because the evaporator fitting would freeze
onto the receiver and there was barely enough length of tubing to get a
wrench on the fitting where it came out of the firewall. This was the
reason I started buying Fords or Chryslers. I cannot afford a new
vehicle, but I can buy a used one that can be worked on. As far as I am
concerned, GM has had their head up their butts for since 1985.

Just my $0.12
