A new project recently followed me home. According to the serial number it's
a 1955 Ferguson TO-35 Deluxe. It's in good shape overall. The worst part is
that the toolbox in the left fender has filled with leaves/trash and has
rusted through in a couple of places but that can be fixed without much
trouble. There are a couple things I'm wondering about.

1. From the information I've found, that year model should be green
metallic and gray but this one is red and gray. I suppose it could have been
repainted but there is no sign of green paint anywhere. What do you think?

2. It has been converted to a 12 volt alternator so the tachometer
doesn't work. The tachometer "space" is strange too. There is no glass and
the metal cover is pretty rusted but there is no hole. Would it have come
without a tach? I would like to convert it back to a generator since the
tach is driven off the generator. What is a good source for a generator,
even one that needs to be rebuilt?

I'm sure I'll have more questions but that will do for now. Thanks for your
thoughts and info!
