The PDP stuff was "new" when I got started, David.  We were working with an ancient and wheezing IBM 1620.  FORTRAN II, Drafting Language, the Holrith code, and all the rest -- it made APT look like a major step forward.  Those were the days of art in the form of concoctions made out of used computer cards.
