Reminds me of my first machine.

Xerox 820-II (built from parts and a bare motherboard), 64k ram,
installed in a Televideo terminal cabinet, with 2 8 inch (DS) floppies
and a Decwriter for a printer.

Later I added a 60 meg hd and 2 5.24 drives to the mix. I used this
machine until I replaced it with a Wyse 386 machine.

Running Cp/m and using Wordstar as my word processor.

As others have mentioned, wait until she gets to school to get MS
office, it should be much cheaper (assuming they require it (and the
probably do....)).

Libreoffice or openoffice are alternative office suites that also work well.

Plus they can repair damaged ms word files that office will no longer
open (ask me how I know.... :o).
