[AT] OT - computer advice

My initial reactions tend to mirror what I subsequently read in most of
these comments.

- there is a lot to be said for adopting the latest and greatest, in terms
of longevity of the support
- Win 8 was designed for smartphone/touchscreen oriented people... dare I
say, "younger" people?!
- young people face learning curves with less trepidation
- Win 7 is starting to get tougher to find, and XP... if you're still on XP
(yeah my laptop at home is XP) you are a DINOSAUR
- I assume Mike's college-age daughter is about as far from a dinosaur as
you can get
