Beautiful place Dean. Again, congratulations
and thanks for taking the responsibility to keep
the old place going!

Hi gentlemen. Yep, that's the place. Evidently quite the operation in its
day. Some old photos and notes from prior owners show a variety of
livestock, including chickens, hogs, and cattle (including the Grand
Champion 2-Year-Old jersey at the 1953 Ohio State Fair and the First Prize
Senior Yearling and Junior Champion jerseys at both the 1952 and 1956
National and International Jersey Shows, held in Chicago).

I'm fortunate to have been in the market when it came along, and that the
house and bank barn were beautifully designed and built to begin with and
then well cared for by previous owners. And there haven't been very many
different families, even dating back to when the original quarter section of
land was purchased from the US government by Benjamin Kite (hence the
adjacent Kite Road) in 1819.

Here's how the place looked several weeks ago, during a period in which I
was not contemplating any 35-mile tractor-driving trips:

Chuck, I'm assuming that is the right place based on Gene's directions.
It sure does have a lot of nice barns! Looks like it might have been a
dairy farm?

Mercy, Dean, even from altitude that is one gorgeous place. Looks like fine
soil, lots of outbuildings and trees, and well drained. Congrats, indeed,
and well chosen. The M will be at home for sure roosting and strutting in
that place. I sure would. Even if yours is another place, that looks like
fine country.
Thanks for the link Charlie.
