[AT] wide vs narrow fronts

Great to hear from you Gil!

I feel the same way. They both have their uses, both will kill you. Popularity seems mainly to do with tillage methods and crops grown in an area. But sometimes the popularity in an area is just unexplainable .

Narrow fronts require a third ramp for trailers. Unless you use the old "brake turn the front wheel up a side ramp" trick. That is a "do as I say not as I do" way to load though and is dangerous. So the third ramp is one minor disadvantage I have not heard mentioned yet.

I have driven both since 1946 and have had both roll over with me as the driver. Virtually all of the time the biggest safety problem is sitting in the driver's seat. It was in my case anyway.

I do know that if you are sleepy a wide front will stay in the furrow better. All of that being said we still have both kinds, and don't use either very much. I always did like the looks of a narrow front but that means nothing in this discussion.
