[AT] OT: Truck USDOT number

Steve is there a weight minimum on that restriction?
If not it must be something new since I had license on
my 2 ton (26,000 gvw) dump truck.  I haven't licensed it
in about 6 or 7 years.  

I'm not at all opposed to the DOT number because it allows
you to get a federal inspection on the vehicle instead of 
the state inspection but if it was a requirement the last time
I licensed "ole Margaret", I somehow got around it and didn't get caught.
For that matter, my pickup truck has commercial tags on it but no DOT #.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, 
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, 
Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, 
Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, 
Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

All require a DOT number for a commercial vehicle registration 
regardless of commercial usage.
