Are you referring to a Spader? They are very popular in Europe in veggies
and some people here use them in Organic other production. The advantage is
that they remove compaction and reduce weed pressure dramatically, as well
as soil can be worked a bit wetter than with other machinery. The
disadvantage is more maintenance than tools such as a Disk Harrow, Plow or
Chisel and that they are not good in DRY conditions. Here in California,
sometimes it is very, very dry....

Thanks John.  I didn't see that.  I believe that would work great for
breaking up
clay don't you?   Since it runs on PTO you could adjust the ground speed of
the
tractor to change the number of spade blows in a given length of travel.

Look at some of the products that company makes, lots of videos of their
stuff in action. At the bottom there is a listing for a deep tillage too;
called a spader. I have never seen anything like it here in the US, maybe
they use them in California (nut orchards?). Apparently it dosen't mix the
soil like a rototiller or chisel plow would.

Has anyone ever seen for sale, a commercial (not home made) pto-driven air
compressor?  My son was asking me and I had honestly never even thought
about one and have never seen such a critter.
