Ralph,
That sure is a nice old truck. In 1958 my dad had a '52 grain and
livestock truck. I think it was an L-180 but I am not sure about that.
At any rate it was a two-ton truck. It was a nice truck, box and hoist,
4-speed with 2-speed axle, one of the IH 6 cylinder engines that
absolutely refused to start when it was cold. Being in the livestock
hauling business, that did not go over well and it got traded off for a
new 1959 Chevrolet C-60. It looks like yours may be converted to
12-volt. Whatever, it sure does start much nicer than ours ever did.
We were 8 above here near Sioux City this morning. Some of your
chilly air got this far south already.
