I haven't used Win 8 but if you have any experience with smart phones
I think you'll see some similarity. One of my friends recently got a Win 8
machine and was baffled by it. He called Best Buy (where he bought it)
They told him to come in for a 30 minute session with someone to show him
how to use it and he's fine with it now.

I can only tell you that, from my limited experience with both systems,
you will learn to hate Windows 8 right from the start. If you can get
someone who is knowledgeable to help you set it up, they can make things
a LOT easier by getting rid of all the crap. My son thought he was doing
me a favor by buying me a brand new laptop with Win8 on it, but, aside
from being able to view all the images me moved from my old machine, I
haven't found anything that Win8 does easily or naturally. And there is
a lot of unnecessary crap on the new machine that I have not found any
need for. I understand that there are ways of getting around the crap
and odd (NOT user friendly) screens, but I haven't even tried. My
understanding is that Win8 was designed to support "tablet" machines, so
Microsoft leaned over backwards in that direction.
Maybe others have had better experiences than I have.
