Hi Dave and all,
I invite you to watc this tape I put up on youtube.
I think it will answer all your questions, dave.

My JD A is a 1936 model. It's been in the family since my Great
Grandpa Juranek bought it in 1936 brand new on steel!
Since the vid was taken, it has changed a lot. The exhaust gasket blew
on the manifold, valves don't mate 100% and plugs foul easily.
Last September, my dad bought a 1934 unstyled A at a sale. He wanted
to swap tags and sell great grandpa's. I convinced him that it's not
about how much money it takes to repair it, it's about the fact that
it's a piece of family history.
Dad finally realized the importance and hauled it to a guy's shop for me.
The guy is verry nice, so nice that he is letting me do the repair work on it.
When it barks again, I know great grandpa would be one happy man.
I look forward to that day. It is in the near future.
Take care, feel free to email and ask all the questions you like!
