[AT] Test, now antique shows

Hi Herb, it's an easy mistake to make.
A couple of guys I grew up with were tickled to death in 1958 when
their dad came home driving a 58 Impala 2 door hard top with a 348 with 3
deuces.
A few weeks later he went back to the dealer to get those 3 carbs adjusted
and came home
driving a 59 Impala 4 door sedan with a 283. The dealer traded him out of
the 58. They were sick!

Charlie

Mattias, Your post has certainly created considerable review of this very
popular Chevrolet series; and especially after I made a ten year error in
model age. That should not have happened as my folks bought a new 49 two
door sedan and later Barbara and I bought a used 57 four door wagon (ivory
top and powder puff blue bottom, a beautiful car) just before the 59's hit
the showrooms. Some of those Nomads and hardtops were exceptional. Not sure
why my typo. Thanks for starting this informative thread. Herb

The 2 door Nomad wagons that most think of were the 55-57 models.

In 58 they moved the wagon to the Bel-air line as a 4 door(only year for
this version and makes some of the 58 Nomad wagon only parts a PIA to find)

The wagons for 59 were the

6 passenger 4 door Nomad (based on the top line Impala chassis)

9 passenger 4 door Kingswood (based on the Impala but with a modified
rear passenger platform for the third seat)

6 passenger 4 door Parkwood (based on the Biscayne)

6 passenger 2 door Brookwood (based on the Biscayne)
