[AT] New tractor

The nice thing about our 38 Case (last year before the big color change,
electricity, road gear, etc), it was very easy to hand crank so one would
not need a new battery every few years.
It was also very good on the belt. Neighbors Farmall M was experiencing
clogged pipe at the silo. Our Case solved the problem. Surprising because
the M had several more HP. Later that fall the neighbor increased diameter
of belt pulley approx two inches, that solved Farmall M problem.

The Case is pretty much of a play tractor now. I have used it to rake hay a
few times and square baled with it. I've also used it with the flat belt to
power a saw. But very little for any of those jobs

Dan, have you used the 1934 CC Case much? Our 1938 CC Case was our only
tractor for our half section of diversified farm plus pulling the township
road maintainer 42 miles soon after rains. Quick calculations indicate my
driving that good tractor around the world at least one time; 24,901.55
miles measured at equator. Central KS is not at equator, but some days
seemed like we were very close to equator. Dad bought a used Ford in early
'50's, but I was in Navy by then. The Case was a very good tractor; I do
not remember his ever having major work on the engine.

My new tractor is only 32 years old! A 5088 International is a big jump up
from my 1850 Oliver for a baler tractor. I guess I'm getting wimpy. I used
the better cab with heat, air, and much quieter as one of my excuses for the
purchase.

I hope to haul it home tomorrow if it quits raining so the gravel isn't so
greasy. The tractor only has 3905 hours on it new tires, and new batteries.

It's a little new for this list but hopefully it will help earn money to buy
more tractors!

PS: saw an ad today for a Cockshutt 30 narrow front with good tires and
