[AT] Mike Sloane

Just  wanted to update everyone on Mike.

Wayne Smith spoke to Diane last night and this is an update from Wayne;

Just got off the phone with Diane. Mike is doing better, she said he is 
walking, not far but walking. He goes to therapy a few times a day, has 
to use a wheelchair, which he hates, because it’s too far to walk. She 
said he’s not ready for phone calls yet, I get the impression he is 
having trouble speaking. He has a laptop now, no internet but he is 
looking at his pictures. Diane said he is thankful for all the well 
wishes and phone calls, it perks him up when she tells him. Gregory left 
yesterday and will be back in a few weeks. I ask her if she is doing OK 
alone and she said she is surprising herself. All the neighbors are 
doing what they can, they told her Mike is always there for them and 
that they will take care of the house and yard and whatever else she 
needs. They give her a ride to see Mike, not every day, but that’s OK 
with Mike. Someone mowed already, sounded like Ross. She said Mike 
improves each day, getting himself dressed etc. and the Drs. said that’s 
a good sign. I didn’t want to ask what the outlook is, full recovery, 
partial, maybe next time. She really sounded cheerful when talking about 
him and the fact that he wanted his computer is a good sign. That’s 
about it, I told her I would call later in the week or weekend if she 
didn’t mind and she said not a problem, Mike likes hearing about the 
calls. I told her to tell him that I offered to come clean out his barns 
and dispose of those junk tractors, she laughed and said she would relay 
it to him. I got the feeling she liked that idea. ;-]
