[AT] Small Backhoes?

Kubota (either its dealers or its importer) had trouble with every part I tried to order over the years, from replacement alternator, to fan belt, to springs that take the slack our of the 3-point, to the driveline on the mid-PTO. They were pathetic. I did NOT have a gray market tractor. They just couldn't provide any support. On the driveline part, I was trying to repair a U-joint with a bad bearing. The part they had available had the right part number, but it didn't fit the existing U-joint. Their excuse was that a change order must have occurred and that I would have to buy the whole shaft. But the splines weren't the same, and a new one wouldn't fit. About the only thing I was ever able to buy with any confidence was a replacement air filter.

Not impressed with anything Kubota after dealing with an older small
tractor. No dealer around could tell us what head gasket (there were
multiples listed in the parts book) was needed and if it used a shim. I
somehow got the phone number of a regional office for Kubota and it took
those guys a while to figure it out. And no, it wasn't a grey market
tractor.

"Kubota makes good stuff and parts are readily available."

Now wait a minute! I would disagree with the last half of that statement.
No company has given me more trouble in finding repair and replacement parts
than Kubota. NONE! So when a good friend and fellow-collector made me an
offer on my Kubota, I didn't have to think very long about accepting his
offer to take the whole rig off my hands.
