[AT] OT--Kawasaki starter trouble

Thanks for the great suggestions guys. I'll try to look at it again this 
weekend. I like the idea of using a different battery to rule out problems 
with mine. I'll probably start with jumper cables and if that works then 
hook it into my cables to rule them out. I kind of doubt it is the 
compression release since it appears the starter does not always engage (at 
least on the 2 el cheapo replacements). When it does engage it spins fine. 
But since all is required is to pull the plug, why not try it.

FWIW, the local dealer wants over $400 for a starter/solenoid assembly. I'm 
sure I can buy a Denso cheaper online, and can probably get an aftermarket 
one for under a $100.

I'll post back when we fix it, or rule something out.
