Found a lot of interesting items, including this cute little gray tractor with the big gray "eyes". It clearly was saying "buy me, buy me." Well, to make a longer story shorter, it did come home with me. A 1955 Ford 860 like I have been in search of. It has sand-blasted sheet metal that is primed in gray. It needs work on the "red" sections yet. I want to upgrade the PTO to 1 3/8" and add a swinging drawbar. I've checked some places for used parts but they were all very proud of their parts so those parts can stay right where they are. They were nearly the price of new parts. Oh well, I get to hunt for the parts. This tractor has a Zenith carb while my first 860 has the Marvel-Schebler. My brother's 860 has the Marvel-Schebler too. The Zenith is so small compared to the M-S. Some one at the auction, perhaps a poor loser, turned the main jet down as tight as he coul!

I put it to work right away by hooking onto the 3-point blade and smoothed the ruts in the drive way. Learned that I am going to want better brakes than this one has at the moment. All in all, a very good tractor day for me.

Al,

Actually, it did make it before, but I doubt any of us
mind sharing in such understandable joy a second time.
