I have a 489 that tore up the wobble drive. There are 2 479 NH swathers
Down south of here about 100 miles. I got my EZ guide GPS yesterday,
played with it hooked up to the truck just to try it out....

I had a 19.5 foot model 4000 and while I did cut hay with it , I had to go very slow or else the knife would hammmer so bad I was afraid of breaking the $1500 wobble box. I'll admit that a new set of sickles and guards might have helped some but it always cut flax ok so it couldn't have been too bad. I'm much happier cutting hay with my old NH 479 haybine. If the crop is thin I just rake two or three windrows together.
