Like Dave said, the magnetic lights would be the way to go.  However, you mention unstyled; so I presume a hand start with no generator or battery.  Just tuck a small battery in the tool box or what have you, as a power source.  Like the kind you see on trailer break-a-way kits. Won't last terribly long but long enough for a trip home from the field.  Would probably want to go with the LED headlamps if you go that route.
