Does it do OCR, Steve?  You and I have talked via email often enough that you are probably aware of the thousands of pages I turn out about tractors.  IMHO, OCR is a main reason for its popularity.  The text then becomes searchable, and you can find anything without bothering with an index.

I bet a lot of folks would like to scan things or convert things to .pdf.

Here is a nice FREE program that allows you to turn ANYTHING you can 
print into a .pdf file.
It doesn't allow you to edit .pdf files like Adobe does but it is handy 
for some stuff.
