John that reminds me of the old Microsoft help desk joke.  The guy at the 
help desk standard reply is "reboot"
the customer starts to tell him more stuff.   the help desk guy says "shut 
up and reboot".
I might add to that, run a registry utility every now and then to repair 
registry errors.

My HP went of the fritz......or so I thought...I have a Photosmart C4700
series. Wireless. When I first set it up everything was cool could print
and scan from any room in the house. Then it disappeared from my wife's
laptop and then it wouldn't work at all from my laptop. When on line to HP
fixit and still did the same thing. I was out of town for a week came home
and tried it this am.....whlaa , all is well......GO FIGGER !
