1971, Tom.  For several years, Kohler simply added (1) to the initial digit when they started a new model year.

That's done by formula, Bruce.  Kohler publishes it in the front of their Engine service manual.  What's your serial number?  I have three editions of that manual.

Does anyone know of a serial number list to date a Kohler K321S engine.   I
have a K321S Spec 60433  Serial 14143155 I would like to know when it was
made.  It is on a Smithco  Model 13-001 Serial  number 106.
