Brad I'm going to send you a photograph of half a page from a genuine AC
Service manual for that tractor.
I hope you have a broadband connection because I'm sending it as a large
file so you can blow it up and get
a good look. That's all I have on it. If you go over to
WWW.AllisChalmers.com there are some guys there
who will most likely have those seals or know where to get them. Just go to
the tractor discussion page and post a
message. You'll have to sign up as a member if you aren't already but it's
free.

Subject: [AT] WD45 questions

While this isn't nearly as entertaining as the recent burn-out thread the
fact the words Allis Chalmers has come up compelled me to send this. This is
a tractor related question. :-)

I acquired a decent WD-45 through my dad (he did some work on another WD-45
and got this one for his efforts) and there are a couple if things I'm
looking to "fix".

The first item is the hydraulic valve leaks. Or I'm going to call it the
valve as it sits on top of the pump. Is this something like an o-ring type
repair? Here is a picture with a pointer to where the fluid is coming from
since I find it hard to describe.

Next on the list, is the manifold has an exhaust end gasket gone so I need
to pull it and see if it needs surfaced or just a new gasket set. The studs
are quite rusted on the ends and I don't know that I can get the nuts taken
off and put back on without replacing the studs. How likely are the studs to
be seized in the head and nearly impossible to remove?

The last thing is the slop in the steering. This unit has power steering
which is great but I'd like to tighten it up as it's pretty loose. My WC is
tighter but even it can start to wobble when running down the road.

If can can get these items squared away it will be a nice working tractor
and maybe one day get a fresh coat of orange with some decals!

I have an IT manual for the WC/WD/WD45 but it's not overly helpful when your
looking deep into the details. That's where this list and it's wealth of
knowledge really are amazing.

Thanks for any help!
Brad
