Installing a tee in the pressure line will work good. Make sure it is a high pressure tee and not the common low pressure tee good for 150#. You may also need a bushing or adapters because the line will be larger than the gauge.
Sometimes there are gauge ports in the. Control valve where you can pull a plug and install a gauge which might be simpler if it is available.
Remember for typical owning loop circuits you only get pressure when you are working the valve. You only get maximum pressure when you deadhead a cylinder or stall a motor.
