[AT] Winch Cable tensioner

A lot of the winches now have a curved piece of metal that is spring 
loaded and rubs hard against the cable to hold it on the drum and also 
to prevent it from rolling too freely.

Then roll it back on allowing it do drag over the ground freely and try to train it on the reel as you go.
