[AJD] 2 cyl diesel won't start

O.K. guys. Everybody is saying not stale fuel. I did not really
suspect bad fuel either, even if it is low sulfur stuff. However, why
not touch all of the bases. Give the old girl every advantage.
Sooner or later it will need more fuel added anyway after it runs up
what it has. If I was unable to tow the tractor and had to fire it
with the starter, I would say haul it out into the hot sunshine and
let it stand at least 1/2 day to warm up the cast iron and the motor
oil a bit. Warmer motor oil might help the motor turn just a little
bit faster. If it is almost but not quite, little details can be the
difference. Giving it a tow was in my mind also, but two people may
not be available to do it.???? Hopefully the injector timing is O.K.
as it did run for a couple of hours last fall.

I used to use a 70D back in the 1950's with the pony. As I recall the
main engine turned at 200 RPM when the pony was at 10,000 Rpm.
200 is a pretty good cranking speed. Did it slow down some when you
closed the valves and brought on the fuel? I do not recall. It
usually started quickly enough that it was hard to tell. Even 0
degrees F. did not bother that old girl.
