[AJD] Magneto?

One cheap n easy way is to use a plug wire that is spaced 3/16 inch away from the mags metal and hand turn the mag so the impulse snaps and you should get a bright visible blue spark as opposed to a thin wimpy hard to see yellow spark. If the impulse spring is weak the spark will be weaker, it should make a loud sharp SNAP not a faint dull clunk when it snaps. Of course, this is ONLY the static impulse spark were talkin about here which isnt the same as when the impulse becomes disabled (around 250 RPM) and then the faster the RPM the more spark energy thats developed. Typical problems are burned points,,,,,,weak magnetic strength rotors,,,,,,,,,,weak or bad condensor,,,,,,,,,,weak spring (affects start spark only)............. John T in Indiana
