I had a friend just sell one in Northern WI for $2,225.00. Rough shape, 12
volt, loader and good rear rubber. Hydraulics needed hoses and I think
other work.

Subject: [AT] Trying to come up with a fair price for an 8n

Hello,

My brother-in-law has a good 8n that I think he would like to get rid of. I
have a good friend of the family that might want to buy it. I want to find a
fair price for the tractor, here are the facts.

When running it runs well. Within the last two years I have rebuilt the
carb, new coil, points.

It was converted to 8 volt but we never got the resistor right. I think it
needs to go back to 6 volts and a new resistor unit under the dash. It has a
variable resistor that we picked up, we start it high and lower it when its
running.

Battery is probably shot from sitting.

Rear Axle seals are shot so the brake don't really work, or it may just be
one brake, I can't remember.

He has a brush cutter and back blade that will probably go with it, can't
remember the brand. Brush cutter is 3 point and has a leaky front housing
seal.

It has chains and decent rubber.

Paint is gray and pretty much shot. It's been sitting out for years with no
tarp on it.

It has front cast iron wheel disk weights. I can't tell if they are factory.
They were done well and bolt on the outside of the front rims.

I was thinking somewhere around $2000 would be a fair value?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Will Powell
