Steve, I'll try your idea today if I get a chance to work on the Gravely 
today.  I'll let you know how it goes whenever I do it. Usually I would 
leave the jets in place, but on this carb the owner left it to sit with 
water in the gas tank.  Besides, the jets need to be replaced since they 
are distorted beyond recognition.  The carb was flooded with water and 
scale, so I plan to strip it and soak it really well, and I want the 
jets out to make sure the passages are spotless.
