I've taken some of those routes (live in Iowa) but I know there is some road construction on I-80 West of the route you show below. Here is a web site that might help you avoid some of those construction zones if you're pulling a trailer etc.

I just looked at http://www.511ia.org/ (the Iowa info) and it showed the some of the current projects I've driven through. This might help determine what route you want to take.
